Description

In 2009, Akai Professional collaborated with the creators of Ableton Live, a powerful music performance and production software environment, and introduced the original Ableton Performance Controller—APC 40. The instrument raised the standards of controller design, revolutionised hardware and software integration, and proved to be an essential performance tool for Ableton Live users everywhere. Building upon this original partnership, Akai Professional now introduces an all-new, reimagined Ableton Live controller—APC 40 MK2.

The APC 40 MK2 features a 5×8 RGB clip-launching grid, so you can launch clips using 40 responsive triggers. RGB lighting provides visual feedback and displays clip states so you can maintain focus on the controller during performance.

APC 40 MK2 is equipped with an array of assignable controls: nine faders and eight channel control knobs, plus a further eight device control knobs enable hands-on parameter tweaking and mixer control.

APC40 MK2’s hardware controls correspond to Live’s interface, so you can plug in and play without MIDI-mapping each control first. It’s also customisable – all controls can be re-assigned to suit your performance or production style – and can be powered by USB, making it ideal for DJing, and live performance.
