Our annual visit to Malta is one of the favourite events in all of our teams calendars. With its base in St Pauls Bay the festival takes over venues across the island with a unique line-up curated by Annie Mac. Lost & Found has always been about pushing boundaries with challenging venues.

The festival begins on Thursday with an 8000 capacity opening party on the terrace of the Malta National Aquarium, adjacent to Cafe Del Mar, the venue famous for its daytime pool parties and awesome sunsets. To achieve best coverage in an area close to residences an EV XLine system is deployed by local audio suppliers Besteam, with lighting and structures provided by Nexos. The stage itself is a custom design by London based stretch tent supplier Intent Productions. XV Solutions provide an upstage screen with content from the team at MAV, who also assist co-ordinating production logistics throughout the week with their invaluable knowledge of the island.

Friday afternoon see’s us set pitch on Armier Beach with an outdoor live stage overlooking the beach. The site lends itself perfectly with good sight lines and golden sand and Rays Lido makes for a very picturesque production office for the build day. The layher stage, provided by AES, features a custom fabricated beach structure and is cited on the sand facing out to the sea with an additional thrust for live performances. Audio reinforcement is provided by local event company Jugs Malta.

"The challenging overseas environments that our events are held in requires a tenacious and resilient production team. Each production has been delivered reliably, risk free. Immersive's capabilities, flair and experience is a testament to our success"

By night we convert a huge open air club complex in the centre of the island, each stage set in the trees and given its own unique identity by the team at RWS Live. Bertie Sampson from LEG takes the helm at the main stage with its huge projection mapped palace structure underneath the Uno roof. Funktion One audio systems are deployed across the site by the team at Futuretech. The open air Tropicana stage hosts a raft of live acts with the Pyramid stage featuring a House & Disco lineup. Lighting & Power are provided by Nexos and feature a Clay Paky rig of Mythos, Sharpy and Supersharpy alongside a number of Prolights fixtures.

The 2019 edition of the festival saw our return to the Red Castle (St Agathas Tower). Situated at the top of a hill looking over the bay, access to the site is up a single lane gravel track and there’s barely enough space to turn a forklift at the top. The terrain in front of the tower is rocky and unsuitable for use as a festival site so we brought in a staging contractor to create a multi-level audience platform to cover the entire site. The tiered platform created an incredible view of the bay behind for the whole audience for a perfect saturday afternoon in baking heat.

We provide a full service production, technical and stage management service with our team working on the festival planning throughout the year. We fly out a UK team of 9 including stage managers, lighting & audio engineers who have a great relationship with our Maltese suppliers and colleagues.
